With Ignite by Hatch™, there are two ways you can access the experiences: our Ignite App and our browser-based web app. Here are some general recommendations for which app to use based on your device type:
- iPads: The app must be installed via the App Store or distributed via MDM software. The web app is not compatible.
- Android: The app must be installed via the Google Play store or distributed via MDM software. The web app is not compatible.
- Chromebook: We recommend using the browser-based web app version of Ignite for a seamless upgrade experience (you must whitelist http://ignite.hatchearlylearning.com). You can also install the app via the Google Play store or distribute it via MDM software.
- Windows 10: We recommend using the browser-based web app version of Ignite for a seamless experience (you must whitelist http://ignite.hatchearlylearning.com). You can also install the app via Insights™ and download or distribute the executable via MDM software.
If you are using an MDM and you have Android or iOS devices, you must deploy the local app to all devices in order for single sign-on (SSO) to work correctly. Otherwise, the user will get an error message on their device when they try SSO in Ignite.
Note: For Clever and ClassLink SSO customers, this process is automatic. There is one Ignite app shared, and it will launch the appropriate Ignite version (local app or web app) based on what device you are using. All Android and iOS devices will launch the local app. If the local app is not installed, you will be instructed to install it. There is no way to manually edit these settings.
If you have questions on how to best deploy the application to your devices, please contact customer support for recommendations.
