Note: This article is only for Clever or Classlink auto-roster customers for the second year after having performed an archive.
As of August 2022, we have introduced a new setting on the Roster Sync Settings page. Under Additional Settings, you will now find a toggle labeled Auto-carryover from last year's data. This setting should only be toggled on for the very first sync of the year.
Carryover is a process in which you can retrieve child data that has been archived so that the child can keep playing from where they left off last year! With auto-carryover, we can perform carryover automatically based on the data we receive from your auto roster system during sync.
It works something like this:
- Your organization archived data at the end of the year to clear up space.
- During the new school year, your roster data from Clever/Classlink gets synced.
- Instead of creating all new accounts, when Auto-carryover from last year's data is toggled on, Hatch™ will check the data it receives from Clever/Classlink with the archive data it has for your organization.
- If we find a match, then we automatically carry over this account instead of creating a new one.
