Features of the Child Skill Detail Report
This report is a one-stop spot providing in-depth information about all things Ignite by Hatch™ for every child in your classroom/program! The Child Skill Detail Report includes progress within each Domain/Subdomain and skill, time spent playing, as well as each child’s drawings, writing samples, an example of the child’s avatar creation, and their profile details.
1.The Subdomains displayed are determined based on the child's grade level and goal and will not display subdomains whose first skill level is beyond their goal. For example a child whose grade is Pre-K 4 will not show the "Reading->Comprehension - Fiction" skill because it's first level is 5, a Kindergarten level. If the child completes their goal and continues to progress into Kindergarten skills the Kindergarten subdomains will then be displayed.
For a detailed list of sub-domains available by grade please see the following support articles:
Pre-School and Pre-K
Kindergarten and 1st Grade
2.The Skill Level bars include all twelve Ignite skill levels, for all respective Subdomains. However, only the most grade-appropriate skill levels will be visible when the page loads. You can click the arrows to see more skill levels. When a Subdomain does not include all skill levels, you will find dark grey shading instead.
3. In the skill bars you may notice a gold dot and a black flag. The gold dot indicated the skills the child first saw and played in Ignite. This is determined based on their grade level. The Black flag indicates the first skill level demonstrated. If a child does not demonstrate the skills at their starting level then Ignite will move them to a more foundational level. In this case, the black flag will appear on a lower skill level than their starting skill level.
4. To display a description of each skill the child has demonstrated as well as the skill descriptor the child will next demonstrate, select SHOW (below Demonstrated & Up Next).
5. You can also select to display the child’s skill progress in English or Spanish (the report will default to the language that the child is currently set up to play). Teachers, admins, and families can use this to view progress in both languages for children who play or have played.
6. Teachers are alerted to children moving into Guided Practice experiences with purple shading. Upon completing the Guided Practice experience, the child will play the Core experience again and the shading will return to green, orange, or red.
