The new and improved Growth Report allows you to continually track the correlation between playtime and progress in Ignite by Hatch™ over the course of your school term.
Where Can I Find the Growth Report?
The Growth Report can be located under the Reports tab in Hatch Insights™. Simply hover over REPORTS, and, in the Other Reports subheading, click Growth Report.
What Will I Find?
The Growth Report is a combined line and bar graph. To ensure you are viewing the data you want to see, start by selecting your School Start Month. By default, the graph will start in August, but if your school has a different start time, you can select it from the dropdown.
After selecting your start month, the graph will populate with data. The graph will show all 12 months, starting with your start month (on the horizontal axis). Months that have not yet occurred will appear empty. You can use this report to see how the children are developing and learning through Ignite!
The blue line shows the average cumulative playtime of all children during the school year. The amount of playtime is indicated by the labels on the right-hand side of the graph.
The green bars show the average cumulative progress of the children during the school year. The progress level is indicated by the labels on the left-hand side of the graph. The progress shown here is calculated the same way as the progress on the progress report. For more information on how this number is calculated, please see this article: Hatch Insights™ Reports: Average Skill Progress.
Note: Progress is not calculated for Entry Experiences; however, playtime still includes the time a child spent on Entry. Because of this, you may notice some playtime without progress on the Growth Report.
To ensure you can easily see growth over the entirety of the school term, data for both playtime and progress is cumulative.
To see the data label and readiness markers (for each month), click the Show Graph Details toggle in the filters bar above the graph.
What Else Can I Do?
The filters on the Growth Report show the growth being made at the school level, the class level, and the level of individual children. You can also filter the data by the demographics related to the children in your class/school.
*Please note: Demographic information must be included in the children's profiles for the demographics filter to accurately display data.
Grade View Filter: This new filter shows you the report with progress values that are most appropriate for your children. For example, you can filter by Kindergarteners and you will see the progress scale change to start at 2 since kindergarteners start playing Ignite at skill level 3. If you filter by preschoolers then you will see the progress scale change so that the numbers stop at skill level 5. These numbers change to indicate more appropriate learning goals for different age children.
Print and Export: In the blue bar at the top of the report, you'll find options to print and export the growth report. By clicking Print Report, you can print your current view of the report. If you click Export, you will be able to download the data in the report in a CSV file. You can then use this data for your own analyses.
