What Is IgniteTable by Hatch™?

IgniteTable by Hatch™ is an interactive table facilitating collaborative play with two to four children in an engaging digital environment. As students work together and problem solve, their social–emotional learning (SEL) capabilities grow alongside all areas of knowledge.

A Hatch™ Interactive Table (IgniteTable)

Is an Internet Connection Required at All Times?

Yes, an Internet connection is required for use. It can be wired or Wi-Fi, but we recommend Wi-Fi.

What if I Have One of Your WePlaySmart Tables?

Customers with WePlaySmart tables may be eligible for an upgrade. For more information, read Introducing IgniteTable by Hatch™ (Previously WePlaySmart).

What Will My Children Learn on IgniteTable?

Children playing IgniteTable will advance their SEL based on the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) framework. For more information about the data behind our game development, visit IgniteTable by Hatch™ Research Overview.

What Happens When My Child Plays IgniteTable?

How Are Games Chosen for My Children?

IgniteTable will select three games that are most appropriate for the children who are logged in. We check which skills the children need and then give them games with various skills or subdomains. After IgniteTable has selected the three games, the children logged in get to vote on the first game that they want to play.

What Happens if a Child Joins Midway Through a Game?

Children can join the fun at any time when there is a space open for them. If they join midway through a game, IgniteTable will simply select their rocket reward for them.

Can Children Switch During Games?

Children can switch during games. To leave a game, simply click the red stop sign in the child panel. Then, the next child will be able to enter the game.

What Can a Teacher Do on IgniteTable?

There are many things teachers can do on IgniteTable, most of which can be found in the teacher area. To enter the teacher area, click the gear icon in the lower right-hand corner and tap the numbers in ascending order. (This is meant to keep children from wandering into the teacher's area.) In the teacher area, you'll find options to View Reports & Recordings and Manage Class; both of these options will open Hatch Insights directly on the table. We recommend using a computer for these two options. Simply go to Hatch Insights and log in with the same credentials you used on the table.

You can also use our Explore Experiences feature, where you can look through the games we offer on IgniteTable and preview or practice the games without collecting data. For more information on this feature, please read IgniteTable Explore Experiences.

How Can I See My Children's Progress and Playtime?

You can find playtime reports, progress reports, and much more on our reporting site, Hatch Insights.

As a Teacher, How Should I Decide Who Plays?

In your classroom, you may come up with your own system for who plays IgniteTable and when. But to help you out, on your Hatch Insights dashboard, you'll see a Play Schedule, where we list children who haven't gotten much playtime this week. You can use this list to determine which children play next.

Why Didn’t My Child Get Their Reward?

Children not present at the end of the three-game series will not get their reward. This means that if a child leaves or switches with someone else during the games, then they won't get their reward.

How Do I Get Back to the Class Login Screen?

First, enter the teacher area by clicking the gear in the lower right-hand corner, and click the numbers that appear in ascending order. Then, simply exit the teacher area by clicking Play.

How Will IgniteTable Get Future Updates?

As we continue to enhance IgniteTable, we will send out updates regularly. You must be connected to Wi-Fi to get the updates, but no action will be required on your end.

Where Do I Find My Version Number?

You can find your version number on the lower left-hand side of the table screen.
