Language Settings in Ignite by Hatch & GOLD
- Children can play Ignite™ in either English or Spanish.
- In GOLD®, for literacy objectives specifically, children can be configured to be assessed using Spanish learning objectives or not.
Where possible, Hatch strongly recommends that the language that a child plays Ignite in matches the GOLD literacy language that they are configured to be assessed in. This allows HatchSync® to best match the child's learning and skills demonstrated in Ignite to the objectives in GOLD.
However, in some instances, HatchSync may still send documentation for mismatched play.
What is the language-dependent standard that HatchSync sends to GOLD?
- The GOLD objective: HatchSync can send the standard or Spanish objective.
- The GOLD dimension: HatchSync can send the standard or Spanish objective.
- The GOLD level: This will be the same, regardless of language.
- A description of the skill in Ignite that is demonstrated by the child: HatchSync will always send this note in English, even for Spanish Ignite play/GOLD objectives. The note will indicate if the skill was demonstrated in a Spanish-language version of Ignite.
For a detailed description of what is sent to GOLD, read this article: HatchSync™ FAQ.
