Family involvement is a crucial part of any child’s early education. When you add family members to your children's profiles in Hatch Insights™, these family members can access Ignite by Hatch™ and Insights at home.

As families use Ignite at home, teachers and families can partner together in the child’s home learning using a shared language. Ignite can also help families tune in to their child’s learning needs, strengths, and progress through the family dashboard.

How to Track Play at Home
Child Playtime Report
In Insights, you can track playtime at home via the Child Playtime Report. Hover over Ignite Reports in the top menu, and click Child Play Time under Playtime Reports.
On this report and the other playtime reports, you can use the Play Access Type filter and select Family Member Login to see playtime related to when the child played on their family member's Hatch account.
Another way to see playtime outside of the classroom is to use the Date Range filter. Here you can add a custom start and end time to ensure that you only see playtime that occurred outside of class hours.
Play Log
You can also track play at home with the Play Log. The Play Log is an exported report that shows you every game a child has played in Ignite. Hover over Ignite Reports in the top menu, and click Play Log under Exports.
On this page, you'll find information about the Play Log and filters you can use to get specific data depending on your needs.
After you've selected the filters that you want, click the green Download Report button.
In the downloaded file, you'll see a column labeled Date Played. This column gives you the date the game was played in Ignite as well as the time. You can use this time to determine whether the skill was played at home or at school.
The 24-hour clock is used to give these time stamps.
Child Time & Progress Export
Another report you can use to track Ignite play at home is the Child Time & Progress Export. Hover over Ignite Reports in the top menu, and click Child Time & Progress Export under Exports.
On this page, you'll find information about the report and filters you can use to get data for playtime at home.
You can choose to filter by Play Access Type.
This will pull data only for the play that happened when a family member is logged in to Ignite. With this filter, you can see the time played at home overall and in specific domains.
You can also limit the data you see to a specific time range.
Using the Time Range filter, you can get data on all play that happens outside of class hours.
Once you've selected the filters you want, click the green Download Report button to get a spreadsheet with the data.
How to Support Skill Growth at Home
With Hatch, you can also support growth at home with more than just Ignite. In Insights, there is a library of activities intended for use at home. Educators and family members have access to these activities.
As an educator, you can find these at-home activities by hovering over Skill Support in the top menu. Then, click At-Home Family Activities to go to the page of activities.
On this page, you'll find a list of domains.
You can click on the plus sign (+ icon) next to each domain to expand a domain and find all of the activities. You will see buttons for each activity. Remember that these activities are meant to be played at home with family support.
You might want to send an activity home. All activities can be printed or saved using the Print Activity button in the blue bar.
You can also encourage family members to log in to Insights, where they can find these activities for themselves.
