Note: This feature is currently available for Ignite customers and coming soon for IgniteTable.
At Hatch, our dedicated learning experts have created a library of activities that you can print and complete with your children. These activities that we call Curricular Experiences map directly to skills your children learn while playing Ignite. Curricular Experiences supplement learning and can be used independently of our software for individual practice, at-home learning, or group activities.
Below, we'll walk you through how to access and best use these activities based on your role.
[Teachers] Dashboard Tile
After logging into Hatch Insights™, you may notice a tile on your Ignite dashboard labeled Curricular Experiences. On this tile, you'll see photos of up to four children who need to practice a particular skill.
This is based on these children's play in Ignite. All of our Curricular Experiences are mapped to games in Ignite. If we find that a child needs help on a skill, then in this tile and on our Recommended Curricular Experiences page, we'll show you which activities we recommend to help support this child on that skill.
The tile will show you your most recent recommendation that includes the most children. From the tile, you can either click View Experience to see the activity we recommended, or you can click View Recommended Experiences to see all your recommendations, not just the most recent.
[Teachers, School Admins, Org Admins] How to Find Curricular Experiences
You can also find the curricular experiences in your top menu. Start by hovering over Skill Support. This is where you can find all our content to extend learning or help children who may be struggling.
Under Skill Support, you'll find Recommended Curricular Experiences and All Curricular Experiences. On both of these pages, you'll find access to our Curricular Experiences.
[Teachers, School Admins, Org Admins] Recommended Curricular Experiences
The Recommended Curricular Experiences page will show you which activities we recommend for which children based on their play in Ignite.
The cards on this page will show you the name of the activity, the skill, and the children that the activity is recommended for. By clicking on a card, you'll be taken to the activity page.
[Teachers, School Admins, Org Admins] All Curricular Experiences
On this page, you'll find our library of Curricular Experiences organized by domain.
To find our Curricular Experiences, simply click on the domain you're interested in practicing and then you'll find all our experiences separated by subdomain.
Under each subdomain, you'll see a card with the name of the activity and a number that indicates the skill level of the activity.
[Teachers, School Admins, Org Admins] Individual Curricular Experience
If you select an activity from either the Recommended Curricular Experiences page or the All Curricular Experiences page, you'll find a page like the one shown below. On each individual Curricular Experience, you'll find the domain, subdomain, and skill related to the activity, as well as a paragraph about the activity, preparation and materials required, and group size. You'll also find the instructions for the activity and questions to ask to promote big thinking. Finally, at the bottom of the page, you'll find a tip to support all learners.
