The following instructions will help you record sound for your IgnitePanel activities. We recommend trying our built-in sound recorder first. For the preferred method, please see the steps in Creating and Adding Audio Files to Your Activities in IgnitePanel by Hatch™.
Creating Your Audio Files
- Open the sound recorder: Using the search bar, type "sound recorder," then select and open the Sound Recorder application.
- Check your microphone: We recommend plugging in a headset or microphone and using it to record audio. Click the drop-down on the lower left-hand side of the sound recorder to ensure that the headset is chosen for the recording. If no microphone options are shown, ensure that your headset or microphone is plugged into your device.
- Change the file type: RM Easiteach will not accept the default file type. Click the button with the three dots in the upper right-hand corner. In the drop-down, click Settings.
- Switch to MP3: In the Settings window, select the MP3 file type. Then, go back by clicking the left arrow button in the upper left-hand corner.
- Record your audio: Click the red button to start recording your audio. Click the button again to stop recording. A new file is recorded every time you click the record button. You can see these recordings in the panel on the left-hand side.
- Set Sound Recorder permissions: If this is your first time recording, then your device may show a pop-up like the one below. Click Yes to allow the app to access your microphone.
- Repeat Steps 1–5: We recommend recording all the audio files you intend to use in your activity here before moving to the RM Easiteach program. All recordings will be saved to your Documents in a folder labeled "Sound Recording." We recommend renaming the files you want to use to ensure that you can find them easily.
Adding Your Recordings to RM Easiteach

- Add an action: Right-click or tap the circled arrow button. In the drop-down, select Action, then select Play an Audio File.
- Find your audio recording: In the pop-up, select Browse to find the audio file that you want to attach to the object.

- Play audio: Switch to play mode . Click/tap on the object to which you added the audio to hear the sound play.
- Save the file: In the "e" menu drop-down, click Save as, then save your file as an etnt (template) file to your My Content folder in Documents.
