The following instructions explain how to use the screen recorder tool found within the RM Easiteach application, a component of the IgnitePanel by Hatch™ solution. This tool allows you to record the screen as children play the IgnitePanel activities and save them to your computer so that they can be used to document and monitor skill development progress.
Note: If your screen recordings are not capturing the whole screen, you may have to adjust your display settings. Learn more here.
1. Start by launching the IgnitePanel activity you want to record. Note: In this example, we chose Free Play, but these instructions will work with all activities.
2. Then, select the screen recording tool icon from the toolbar at the top right.
3. A Screen recorder window will appear in the middle of the screen. Click the play button.
4. Next, you will be prompted to select your save location. Click the folder icon to save the recording to your computer, then click Save.
Note: Clicking the purple camera icon will save the new file to the "My media bank" folder created by RM Easiteach. We do not recommend this in most cases.
5. Your File Explorer will open. Select the folder titled "Classroom Portfolio-[Teacher Name]." Files saved in the Classroom Portfolio folder will automatically appear in the IgnitePanel Teaching Guide under Classroom Portfolios. Select the location, and specify a file name. Click Save.
6. When you finish the recording, you can either press Ctrl+Shift+F12 or you can double-click the recording tool icon in the Windows task tray.
7. To view your recording, open the IgnitePanel Teaching Guide and select the Classroom Portfolios tab in the top left. Here you'll find the recording in the folder where you saved it. In IgnitePanel, you can add notes or observations about the recording.
