This article is for organizations using more than one Hatch product, such as:
- Ignite and IgniteTable
- Ignite and IgnitePanel
- Or all three: Ignite, IgniteTable, and IgnitePanel
If your organization only uses one product, Hatch Insights™ will automatically assign all children to that product—no further action is needed.
What Is an Educational Journey?
An educational journey defines which Hatch™ product(s) a child will use. Each product—Ignite, IgniteTable, and IgnitePanel—has a unique learning experience.
When children are added to Insights, their journey determines which tools and progress tracking they'll have access to.
Why You Might Need the Journey Bulk Updater
If you import children using a CSV file and leave the educational journey field blank, all children will automatically be assigned to every product available in your organization.
If that’s not what you intended, you can use the Journey Bulk Updater to correct it quickly—no need to update one child at a time.
Other bulk roster methods like AutoRoster or ChildPlus may cause a similar problem to occur.
How to Use the Journey Bulk Updater
Step 1: Go to the Tool
- Log in to Hatch Insights
- Hover over the ROSTER menu
- Select Journey Bulk Updater under the Imports section
Step 2: Filter the List
On the Journey Bulk Updater page, you’ll see a list of children and their currently assigned educational journeys.
Use the filters at the top of the page to narrow down your list:
- Filter by school
- Filter by class
- Filter by teacher
This makes it easier to update only the children you need.
Step 3: Update Journeys
For each child, you can choose to assign products based on the products you have by clicking the checkboxes in the row with their name.
Use the Select All or Deselect All checkboxes at the top of each column to apply changes quickly across multiple children.
Step 4: Save or Reset
- Click Submit to save your updates to all selected children
- Click Reset to undo any changes and return to the original view
