How Is IgnitePanel Different From TeachSmart® by Hatch?
The all-new IgnitePanel brings even more capabilities to classroom planning. It allows teachers to save student work samples from a library of activities, providing a holistic understanding of pre- and post-instruction impacts. Teachers can also streamline lesson planning and monitor student growth with IgnitePanel, unlocking a new level of efficiency and engagement in early childhood classrooms.
IgnitePanel connects with Hatch Insights™, Hatch’s powerful educator dashboard, for easy access to critical usage and activity data.
IgnitePanel also features a new and expanded e-book library and more robust offline activity suggestions through curricular experiences that help reinforce skills learned on IgnitePanel. Teachers will find updated correlated standards for Teaching Strategies GOLD® and Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP) as well as embedded professional development covering standards and learning objectives. We've also updated and enhanced our professional development in Teacher Talk.
The installation process is more flexible than TeachSmart, with options for preinstalled devices, USB, or downloads. Multiple teachers can use the same device with separate content. IgnitePanel requires an Internet connection for setup, updates, and logging in to access content.
I Have a TeachSmart Interactive Display. Can I Get IgnitePanel Without Buying a New Display?
Yes! If you currently have the TeachSmart display with a Windows 10 or 11 operating system, your software will be updated to IgnitePanal automatically at no cost to you.
How Do I Upgrade My TeachSmart Interactive Display?
If you currently have a TeachSmart panel, the IgnitePanel software will automatically load onto your panel starting May 1, 2024. Note: Your panel must be connected to the Internet to receive the update.
This upgrade is FREE and will provide all the benefits listed above except a connection to Insights.
If you would like your classroom data in Insights, there a is software subscription fee. Reach out to your customer success or sales rep to learn more.

How Do I Know if My TeachSmart is Upgraded?
When your TeachSmart is upgraded you'll notice the message below when you open your teaching guide.
When you click continue you will see options to login or skip login. You will know that you can log in to the teaching guide if your program has paid for the subscription, you have been added to Hatch Insights, and you have logged into Hatch Insights and created a new password.
If this does not sound like you, then you can select Skip For Now so that you can use the device uninterrupted.
Still not sure if your TeachSmart has been upgraded?
- From the Teaching Guide app, select the Help in the top menu
- Now select About the Teaching Guide in the submenu
- If your TeachSmart has been updated, then the page will look similar to the image below.
