The Alignment Report shows how children’s progress in Ignite™ connects to Teaching Strategies GOLD® (TSG) objectives and dimensions. It helps teachers and administrators verify which Ignite skills have been documented in TSG and understand each child’s progress toward grade-level readiness.
You can use this report to review documentation sent to TSG and track progress across aligned skills.

What the Report Shows
As children play and master skills in Ignite that align to TSG objectives and dimensions, those skills appear in this report in near real time. Educators will see a row for each child available to them, with columns showing all TSG objectives and dimensions that Ignite aligns with.
Each folder in the report represents documentation collected for an aligned skill. The folder displays the following:
A count of the number of Ignite skills documented for that TSG objective, and
A color indicator showing whether the child’s Ignite skill level is above, below, or on track for their grade level.
When you click a folder, a pop-up displays the specific piece (or pieces) of documentation, which is also viewable in TSG if your HatchSync connection is active. You can use the Copy button in this pop-up to easily copy the documentation into TSG. This can be helpful if documentation is missing due to a technical issue or if you want to add it to TSG before the overnight sync.
Note: Documentation is sent to TSG overnight. Skills played today may not appear in TSG until the following day.
This report can also be customized in several ways:
Use the School and Class filters to narrow the list of children shown.
Use the Domains filter to focus on specific areas of learning that are of higher interest.
Adjust the Date Range filter to view more or fewer pieces of documentation.
Set/Edit Your Checkpoint Dates
You can add your own checkpoint periods to the Date Range filter so it is easier to view documentation for specific assessment windows.
Click the Date Range dropdown.
At the bottom of the menu, select Set Your Checkpoint Dates.
In the popup window, enter your checkpoint dates and update the names if needed. You can also add or delete periods.
When you are finished, click Save.
Who sees these dates?
Organization Admins: Your checkpoint dates will appear for all educators in your organization who view this report.
School Admins and Teachers: Your changes will apply only to your own account.
If you are a Teacher or School Admin and want to use the checkpoint dates set by your Organization Admin:
Click Sync with Org Dates.
Click Save to confirm.
How to Read the Report
Alignment Report helps you understand how children are progressing in Ignite and how that progress aligns with TSG objectives.
Use the folders to quickly see where each child has documentation and how their highest skill level compares to grade-level expectations. A higher count in a folder indicates that multiple Ignite skills have contributed to documentation for that objective.
Pay attention to the color indicators:
Green: The child is grade-level ready or above in this skill.
Blue: The child is on track for grade-level readiness.
Orange: The child is below expectations and may need support in that area.
When reviewing the pop-ups, look at the specific skills and play details included in each piece of documentation. These details can help you connect children’s progress in Ignite to your in-class observations and portfolio evidence in TSG.
If you notice gaps in documentation or color patterns that indicate lower readiness levels, use this information to guide instruction and plan for additional support.
How to Use This Report
Use the Alignment Report to support instructional planning and ensure that documentation in TSG reflects each child’s current progress:
Verify documentation: Check that the skills children have mastered in Ignite appear in TSG as expected. If any documentation is missing, you can use the Copy button in the pop-up to manually add it before the overnight sync.
Identify support needs: Look for orange folders that indicate children who are below expectations. These can help you decide which areas may need more targeted practice or small-group instruction.
Recognize progress: Use green and blue folders to celebrate children’s growth and to document examples of grade-level readiness in your portfolios.
Adjust instruction: Combine what you see in this report with your classroom observations to plan activities that reinforce emerging skills or extend learning for children who are ready to move ahead.
See At-Home Play: Use informational messages to understand more about how and when your children mastered their skills. Learn more.
This report can also help administrators track overall classroom progress and ensure that all children have current, aligned documentation in TSG.
Export Data (CSV)
You can export Alignment Report data to a CSV file. This file can be opened in spreadsheet tools like Excel or Google Sheets.
The exported file includes all documentation shown in the report and reflects any filters currently applied. Data is organized by objective and dimension so that children with the same documentation appear grouped together.
To export data:
- Hover over the Save Reports button in the top right corner.
- Select Export Data (CSV).
Columns in the export
- School Name: Name of the child’s school
- Class Name: Name of the child’s class
- Child First Name
- Child Last Name

- TSG Note: Text to copy into your assessment tool
- TSG Objective & Dimension: Objective and dimension to select
- TSG Rating/Level: Rating to select
- Ignite Game Language: Spanish or English
- Image/Drawing Available in Insights?: If yes, go to Insights to download the image

Export Data (PDF Options)
You can export Alignment Report data to PDF using one of three file options:
Group children with the same documents regardless of date played
Creates a single PDF that groups together children who share the same documentation, even if they completed the skill on different dates. This option is useful when transferring results into assessment tools.
Group children with the same documents only if date played is the same
Creates a single PDF that groups together children only when they have the same documentation and completed the skill on the same date.
Don’t group children. Create a separate document for each child
Creates a separate PDF for each child containing only that child’s documentation.
To Export Data
- Hover over the Save Reports button in the top-right corner of the Alignment Report.
- Select Download Full Report (PDF).
- In the pop-up window:
- Select a class. PDF exports can only be generated for one class at a time.
- Optionally filter the report by domain and date.
- Select the PDF file option you want to use.
- Click Download Report.
What’s Included in the Export
Depending on the option you selected, you will receive either a single PDF or multiple PDFs containing the documentation from the Alignment Report.
Each PDF includes:
- Documentation notes
- Objective and level
- The names of the children who demonstrated the skill
- The date the skill was observed (the date the child played and passed the game in Ignite)
- Guidance for adding the documentation to your assessment tool
These export options make it easier to organize and share documentation for assessment and record keeping.
