On a weekly basis, Hatch Insights™ offers organizational admins, school admins, and teachers opportunities to see the children who may need additional support with specific Ignite™ skills. When a child scores less than 80% on any particular skill, the Insights dashboard alerts organizational admins, admins, and teachers, but, depending on your role, the information is presented somewhat differently. To learn more, please enjoy the following video, or continue reading!
On the dashboard, org admins will see a tile labeled Support Needed. This tile shows the number of children in your organization who need support. When you click on the tile, you will be taken to a report that shows the names of the schools (in which children need support) as well as a breakdown for each school that outlines both the number of children who have completed less than 80% of a specific skill and the names of children who have completed less than 50% of any particular skill.
The school administrator view is similar to that of organizational administrators, except that your data will only pertain to the schools for which you are responsible. On the dashboard, you will see the number of children (in your school or schools) needing support (per day of play). When you click on the tile, you will see the names of the classes as well as a breakdown for each class including the number of children who have completed below 80% and the number of children who have completed below 50% on any particular skill.
Since teachers work most closely with the children in their classrooms, the teacher report is more detailed and at the "per child" level. On the dashboard, you will see the profile picture of the child needing support as well as the Subdomain for which they need support. When you click the tile, you will be taken to a report that shows (day by day) the children's names, the time and day on which they engaged with the skill(s) in question, and the percentage of questions completed. You will also see a button labeled Curricular Experience. Clicking this button takes you to a hands-on, teacher-facilitated activity you can implement to help strengthen the skill in question (i.e., you can provide the support needed to help the children succeed!). We also recommend utilizing the Explore Ignite feature as a way to provide additional and varied support to the children in your class.
As a reminder, Ignite also helps support early learners through the delivery of Guided Practice experiences (and a "rest period" of 24 hours before the Support Needed Skill is available for children to access and play).
