How Do the Entry Experiences Progress?
The Entry Experiences cover skills across five Learning Domains:
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Language & Communication
- Social-Emotional Development
- Physical Development
In each of the five Learning Domains, there are Subdomains and Skill Levels; children start playing Entry Experiences at the lowest Skill Level available for each Subdomain.
When a child demonstrates understanding of a skill, and when it is applicable (i.e., if there are additional skills within that Learning Domain), they move forward to the next skill within that Domain.
Once they complete the highest level available for that Domain, the Skill Levels in that Domain are considered "Finished."
When children do not complete a skill, they are not given the next level (for the respective Subdomain), and that Subdomain will show as "Finished."
To ensure skill ability is quickly assessed, Entry Experiences do not include correct or incorrect answer feedback (which is typically in place to support, guide, and instruct children). The elimination of feedback can make the experiences a bit more challenging.
