Will Children Complete All Entry Experiences in One Sitting?
A child should not complete all Entry Experiences in one sitting because doing so implies that the child will exceed the 30-minute weekly screen time recommendation (which is what Hatch™ recommends for Ignite by Hatch™ engagement).
When Do Children Engage With Entry Experiences?
All children will be presented with the Entry Experiences as soon as they start playing Ignite for the first time in the school year (prior to moving into Core Experiences). Entry experiences will be automatically turned off in November to ensure children and educators can experience the value of Ignite Core experiences
Why Does It Take Some Children Longer to Complete the Entry Experiences Than Other Children)?
Just like children learn at different rates, the same can be said of the way children move through Entry Experiences.
Are Entry Experiences Available in Spanish?
Yes. Entry Experiences are presented to each child by way of the language that is set in Ignite (by the teacher).
If I Opted Out of Archive Last Year, Will My Children Engage With Entry Experiences?
In this instance, your existing children will not engage with entry, but if you roster any new children, they will engage with entry. This is the only case in which children may not engage with Entry Experiences.
If I Carry Over Children From a Previous Year, Will They Engage With Entry Experiences?
Yes. Children who are carried over will complete the Entry Experiences. After completing the Entry Experiences, children (who are carried over) will continue playing the Ignite Core Experiences where they finished playing (the previous school year).
Do Children See In-Game Rewards When They Engage With Entry Experiences?
Yes. After completing three Entry Experiences, children are presented with a gift for their buddy (which is what happens when children engage with Ignite Core Experiences).
Is Entry Experience Progress Sent to Teaching Strategies GOLD® as Documentation?
No. Data from Entry Experiences is not mapped or submitted to Teaching Strategies GOLD® (and/or to HatchSync® Powered by GOLD®).
Is There a Way to Skip the Entry Experiences?
Opting out of Entry Experiences is not possible. Once a child has completed a sufficient number of the Entry Experiences, they will automatically transition to the Ignite Core Experiences.
Entry Experiences Align to Five of the Seven Ignite Learning Domains. Why Is That?
The Entry Experiences align with common kindergarten-readiness assessments (specifically DRDP-K and the TSG KEA), and neither Social Studies nor Science & Technology skills are included in those KEAs.
