Guided Access on the iPad

Guided Access helps keep a child focused while playing Ignite by Hatch on the iPad. Guided Access limits the device to a single app and allows a grown-up to control which app features are available.

You can use Guided Access to:

• Temporarily restrict the iPad device to a particular app
• Disable areas of the screen
• Disable the hardware buttons.

Open Settings > General > Accessibility > Guided Access to set up Guided Access.

Turn Guided Access on or off Set a passcode that locks the controls and prevents a child from exiting the game Activate the Accessibility Shortcut.

Using Guided Access with Ignite by Hatch

Repeat these steps to begin and end a Guided Access session each time a child plays Ignite by Hatch.

To begin a Guided Access session:

1. Open the Ignite by Hatch app
2. Triple-click the Home button
3. Touch Start

*Note: Do not set a time limit as a child may run out of time to complete a skill

To end a Guided Access session:

1. Triple-click the Home button
2. Enter the Guided Access passcode
3. Touch End to close Guided Access
4. Exit Ignite by Hatch
